Data from VisitLondon.com reveals 2 in 5 of the world’s biggest theatre shows originated in London, with 1 in 5 top Broadway shows also starting in the UK capital city. Among the top 10 highest-grossing musicals of all time, this makes London the most popular capital city to debut a show, with Phantom of the Opera and Mamma Mia taking some of the top spots.

London, home to a mix of glamorous, budget-friendly, and globally recognisable hotels – many would already rank the capital as #1 when it comes to travel accommodation. An influx of world-class hotels to the city hit full speed in 2024, with 25 new hotels opening this year, adding another 2,700 rooms to London’s stock.
